Envisioning the Architecture(s) of the Urban Commons 19-20

With this project I wanted to strive for multiple use of space, for transcending the existing boundaries and finding interfaces between science, landscape, heritage and super diversity.

This project can be scaled up on this site, as there are still a few barely used heritage buildings left that are today only being used for guided tours.

This project is important, as it can be used as a framework for reactiving heritage buildings for more social inclusivity for the upcoming generations.

For instance the other former mining sites in Genk, could also use a project like this that is based on a commons approach. This project could be literally implemented for example on the former mining site of Winterslag, that is now C-mine.

Not only for former mining sites but also for other brownfield redevelopment projects this project can be used as a reference.

It can also be used as an inspiration for more social inclusivity on white collared business sites.
